Did you know that something called Nvidia Canvas exists? I didn’t until just a moment ago. It’s basically a generative AI for creating realistic looking landscape backgrounds. I know that a lot of people working with generative AI have more or less issues when it comes to generating landscapes, and this might be a nice tool to make it a little bit easier.
It should be noted that Nvidia Canvas can only make landscapes, nothing else. I imagine that the landscape images created in Canvas can be used for inpaint/outpaint in you favourite Stable Diffusion UI though.
There are two sizes available for landscape images
- Regular 1024×1024 images
- 360° Panorama images
Nvidia Canvas Requirements
Independent research like this is self-funded. If this guide saved you hours of troubleshooting, consider fueling the lab.
Support the Project- Windows 10 or later
- NVIDIA GeForce RTX, NVIDIA RTX, or TITAN RTX GPU
- RAM 4 GB for Standard, 6 GB for Panorama (not specified if it’s vRAM or regular RAM)
- Nvidia driver 522.06 or later
I used my non-existant painting skills to quickly scribble a background for each size. It should be noted that I obviously can’t paint even with the help of AI!

All the AI related work I do, I do on my spare time and most of it I share with the world completely free of charge. It does take up a lot of my time, as well as the cost for running this website. I’m grateful for every bit of support I can get from users like you.
