3 Simple Steps For Ad Free TikTok

A few simple steps to follow if you want an ad free TikTok experience. I’m sure I’m not alone in getting tired of getting throttled with ads everywhere I look. And while I understand the purpose of ads, I feel that the aggressive way ads are forced upon us has the opposite effect. At least I feel that when I constantly get interrupted by ads for this or that, I get more and more stubborn about never buying anything from the company that runs the ad.

I also run ads on this website, but I try to make them as little intrusive as possible. I make sure that the ads that are running on this site are not scams or pyramid schemes etc. But I have noticed that most social media seem to not give a damn about which types of ads they run these days, as long as they are getting paid. I’ve seen a lot of ads that have been right-out scams lately, and reporting them doesn’t make the platforms take them down.

So here is my trick for getting TikTok without annoying ads. It works on your phone and your computer.

It works the same whether you are on your phone or your PC, so I will only go over the general steps for doing it on your phone. I’m sure you can figure out how to do the same steps on your computer.

Open up your web browser on your phone (or computer). I use Chrome on both, but I assume it will also work on other browsers. Navigate to the top right corner (in Chrome), and open a new incognito tab. In the incognito tab you have opened, navigate to settings and tick the box that says “Desktop site”.

Now put https://tiktok.com in the address field just like you normally do. Because you are browsing in the incognito tab, you have to log in. When TikTok asks you to accept cookies, don’t accept. Instead click on deny (it might work even with cookies, but it doesn’t seem to work all the time).

Once you have logged in you will be able to scroll through TikTok without any annoying ads interrupting you. The site doesn’t have all the functionalities when you do this on your phone, for example, the auto-scroll function doesn’t work. At least it didn’t for me. If you do this on your computer you shouldn’t have any issues at all though.

This trick might work on other social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram as well. I haven’t tested it, but I am guessing that it works similarly.
